If you  want to keep up to date with what Kieran is up to, you can sign up for the newsletter here: http://eepurl.com/4GSMD. Updates on Kieran will no longer be sent out through Marcus Herzig’s official newsletter because from here on in I’d like to keep the two separate. (clickclickclick)

All right, so there's this indie/punk band from Tokyo.  Actually, they don't look very Japanese to me, but hey, what do I know? Anyway, they're called Proxy War. They have accounts on Vimeo, Soundcloud, and Twitter. On Twitter they have 16 followers. I'm not pointing that out to belittle them, but to give you an idea of how obscure they are. For now at least. I'm sure that's gonna change, beause they're actually quite good.

Anyway, that's all I know. I challenge you to find out more about them without sleeping with any of their members. Trust me, I tried. I mean, googling them and stuff. Not ... you know ... the other thing.

Oh, just one more thing: like so many of us, they seem to find a great deal of inspiration in a young idol boy named Marius Yo... (clickclickclick)

Podio.com has created an infographic outlining the daily routines of famous creative people. Being not only eternally self-reflective but also obsessed with useless statistics, I’ve taken the freedom to add my own name to the list.

Apparently, only Charles Darwin had a daily routine choppier than mine. (Read more)

This blog has been lying dormant for way too long, mostly because all the meaningful things I've had to say in recent months went into my books and there was not a lot left to casually share with the general public. In the last few days, however, a few things have been on my mind, and while my attempts to make sense of the everyday madness of an increasingly complex world are usually successulf, they are not always so.

The intention of this blog post is not to ridicule or offend the religious beliefs of Muslims, Jews, Christians, or anyone else. While I usually have no problems with poking fun at any and all religions, this is not what I'm trying to do here. There is a time and a place for everything, but that time is not now, and the place is not here. What drives me at this very moment is the genuine desire to make sense of the afthermath of what happened in Paris, and indeed in the Muslim world, in the past two weeks. [read more]

Welcome back!

In a few days, The Eschaton Tales: Vol.2 by Kieran Marcus (who happens to be the same person as me) will be released on Kindle. Today I'm happy to present you an excerpt from one of the stories it contains. The story is called Perfect Victim. Enjoy!

Okay, so at the end of my last blog post I told you not to expect me back soon as Kamichan, only if something extraordinary happened. Well, guess what? Something extraordinary just happened. Nothing you'd call special or even remotely exciting, but something extraordinary nonetheless. An extraordinary coincidence, the kind of coincidence that makes you go "What’sですよ!" It was such  freak coincidence that I needed to write it down to preserve it for posterity, and if I write it down I might as well share it. You're welcome. (read more)

My name is Kamichan. お久しぶりですね?

Yeah, yeah, I know. I've been busy all right? And I'd be lying if I told you that I didn't miss blogging about past, present, and future ジャニーズ boys every day, but as some wise man once said, life is what happens while you're busy making other plans.

So why this unexpected blog post today? Well, as you may or may not have noticed, somebody else has also been missing in action for quite a while, and apparently that someone has decided to reemerge from obscurity after more than three years by doing something he never was allowed to do when he was still in Johnny's. He got on Twitter, and on November 1st he wrote his first tweet: (read more)

If you ask parents about their children, they will always tell you that they love all their children equally and that they don't have a favourite. That, of course, is a blatant lie. They may be quite good at not letting it show, but every parent has a favourite kid that they love a wee bit more than the others.

My stories are the children of my mind, and while—like most parents—I love all my children, I do love some of them more than others. Out of of the three stories in my upcoming book The Eschaton Tales: Vol.1 I have one clear favourite, and today I would like to share an excerpt. The story is titled Meitner² and I hope you'll enjoy it. (read more)

Hello, dear readers, welcome back to my blog. My name is Marcus Herzig.

Or is it?!

If you're a subscriber to my newsletter, you've already heard the news (if not, you can read the newsletter here): my new book The Eschaton Tales: Vol.1 will be out on October 24.
